GPTs, LLMs, and ML. Why are all these acronyms and initials suddenly so prominent in our lives? Why does it seem like just 5 years ago, AI was something we saw in movies, and now, it’s all over the world?

Because technology moves at the speed of the willingness to make it better.

When Jason Criddle & Associates first started making Smartr Apps, it took 2 weeks to build an app, and thier apps started at $500 dollars per month. Jason Criddle said on a recent podcast, he remembered when it took a board of advisors and a million dollar cash raise to build a website. Now, websites are thrown in our faces for free or cheaper than dirt. They were millions of dollars because no one had a website unless they were a multi-million dollar brand with the cash on hand to spend on their own website which would explain to potential customers who we are. Today, we can use Facebook to tell people who we are.

In fact… You don’t even need a website. Free website builders can be replaced with social media accounts. An e-commerce website that used to take a monthly fee to maintain can be replaced by a TikTok account. 

For a while, apps became a fad. Now they are just an expected part of the way our phones work.

The exact same thing is happening right now with AI. Technology will leave you behind Once GPUs became affordable to consumers and chatbots started flooding the market back in 2016/2017, the availability and ability to utilize the technology became the norm.

What does this all mean? 

It means… If you don’t know how to use AI today, you may become obsolete tomorrow. Technology will leave you behind. Technology will leave you behind Imagine AI tools available on everyone’s phones, televisions, and home PCs; not just capable of scheduling our emails, but fulfilling mundane tasks we no longer want to fulfill. 20 years ago, no one had a smartphone. The time to become efficient with AI started months ago, and if you are just now learning about AI tools, you are behind everyone who has months or years of knowledge under their belts. 

So, again, what does this mean?

It means you need to become proficient enough at AI right now, that YOU can build the tools. YOU can build the apps of tomorrow. YOU can make someone else’s life easier. You can be part of the technology gold rush.
